Mobile Climbing Wall

Our 9-metre-tall mobile climbing wall is available for hire and is perfect for adding adventure to a camp, section meeting, Group or District event. The wall is based at the Abney Scout & Guide Centre in Cheadle but can also be transported to your own venue. 

When you book the wall at Abney Centre, you’ll also benefit from access to two large activity fields, a fully equipped kitchen and toilet facilities, making it easy to plan a full day or programme night of activities. 

The wall allows up to four climbers at a time, making it ideal for groups who want to keep everyone engaged. It’s suitable for all ages and abilities, with multiple routes to challenge beginners and experienced climbers alike. All the essential climbing equipment is included, so you’ll have everything you need to run safe and fun sessions.  Equipment provided:

• 20 x Petzl Gym Sit Harnesses (Youth Climber) 
• 20 x Petzl Panga Adjustable Helmets (Orange) 
•  4 x DMM Brenin Harness (Instructor)

•  4 x DMM Shadow HMS Screwgate Carabiner (Instructor) 
•  4 x DMM Shadow HMS Locksafe Carabiner (Instructor) 
•  4 x DMM Mantis Belay Device (Instructor) 
•  4 x Petzl GriGri Belay Device (Instructor) 
•  4 x DMM 15m Statement Dynamic Ropes

Please note that the climbing wall is offered on a dry hire basis, meaning we do not provide instructors. You will need to arrange your own qualified instructors or permit holders. For Scout Groups, we recommend using the permit holder search in the Scout Membership System to find and contact suitable instructors.
